The workshop is called “Deconstructing Shakespeare” because alongside learning new tools to investigate Shakespeare’s words, we will also be deconstructing the notions and assumptions surrounding Shakespeare’s language that imprisons us and places it on an academic pedestal, outside of ourselves. In this workshop we will explore The Bard through your current understanding of rhythm, text, music, and individuality. When we do this, the work becomes much more released, personal, and fun!
