We’re excited for our first casting intensive, a unique collaboration with casting director Leigh Jonte, whose work spans Bel-Air, Insecure, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. After hearing about the work happening at LAS, Leigh was excited to spend time with our actors. Together, we’ve created a casting intensive designed to give actors feedback and direct access to the perspective of a casting professional helping shape some of the most compelling television being produced today.
Details are below—and for this workshop, we will be offering a few limited number of spots to actors outside the LAS community.
A Two Week Casting Intensive with Leigh Jonte
At The Last Acting Studio, we thrive on creative collaborations — Leigh Jonte, casting director on peacock hit show Bel Air and a part of the casting team on some of the most exciting shows on TV including Insecure, The Morning Show, The Mindy Project, and the Emmy-winning The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story: Her film credits includes Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Accountant, A Journal for Jordan, and more.

You can see why Leigh is the Casting Director that will launch our first casting intensive. In this workshop not only, will Leigh see your work but in week 2 she will assign you a scene, then you will submit a self tape, and Leigh will give you feedback on your tape, your choices, your technical setup, and what will help you elevate your work in the casting room.

Week 1 (In Person): bring in what you've been working on and present it. Sky's the limit. Do Something fun, that you love, and really represents you.

Week 2 (In Person): Leigh will cast and assign you an audition scene for you to submit as a self tape. On the day of, she will give you direct feedback on all aspects of your tape and review it with the class. Giving you the inside edge on the casting perspective.

Leigh's Bio:
Leigh Jonte is a Casting Director and Associate Casting Director that has been a part of the casting team of multiple well known projects such as the hit HBO series Insecure, the HBO series A Black Lady Sketch Show, the Fox and then later Hulu series The Mindy Project, and the Emmy winning series American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson (which also won an Emmy for BEST ORIGINAL CASTING!). Feature film credits include the Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, SOLO: A Star Wars Story, The Accountant, Madame Web, A Journal for Jordan directed by Denzel Washington, and Candy Cane Lane starring Eddie Murphy. Leigh's most recent credits include Associate Casting Director for the upcoming Lionsgate feature film Michael, and Casting Director for the feature film She Taught Love (Hulu) and the drama series Bel-Air (Peacock).
