Sunday Scene Study Class

with larryjean powell

New Sunday Scene Study Class with Emmy Nominated larryjean powell.

This class is for actors ready to go deeper. Rooted in scene study, it focuses on accessing and bringing the true you to the work. Across genres, we explore truth, technique, and the deeper talent that lives beyond the surface. You'll tap into your higher talent—your superpower, your special sauce. Find it, learn how to work it, and then let it work for you.

Classes run in 4-session cycles and function like an actor's workout. Each session begins with an opening from Larryjean—part lecture, part story, part sermon, part confessional. After that, we dive into scene work. Those participating get coached in front of the group in a supportive environment.

You'll develop your authentic voice while building solid technique. This isn't about quick fixes. It's about accessing what's genuinely yours and learning how to use it effectively in your work.

Come ready to be challenged and to do honest work. Come ready to discover what you're capable of.

Limited spots available!

About the Creative Lab Requirement

What is The Creative Lab, and why do I need to take it?

The Creative Lab is a prerequisite/corequisite course designed to unlock your imagination and unique creative impulses. It introduces essential tools such as Active Analysis, The Creative State, and Creative Tasks, providing a foundation that complements all future training in Scene Study or Film/TV Audition Technique.

This work is specifically based on key concepts and a deeper understanding of the creative process for actors. It is not a general or beginner acting class…it is unique to the work we do here at LAS.

Structure:

  • Week 1: The Creative State & Active Analysis+ Monologue Work

  • Week 2: Sensory Imaging: Five Questions + Scene Work

  • Week 3: Creative Tasks + Scene Work

  • Week 4: Circles of Energy + On-Camera Class
